This drama is best known for the interactions between the major characters and dialogues that can be compared with the best that PTV has ever produced. Ptv Classic Drama Tanhaiyan

Description: This is the story of two sisters, Zara (Shehnaz Sheikh) & Sunya (Marina Khan). When fate deals them a tragic blow, taking their parents away, they migrate to Karachi from Lahore to go & live with their aunt, acted out by Badar Khalil. This trio, supported by a colorful cast, boasting names like Qazi Wajid, Behroze Sabzwari, Asif Raza Mir, Jamshed Ansari, ensure memorable viewing for everyone. Although there is perfect balance between comedy and serious viewing, one feels that what really has made this drama immortal is the chemistry (or lack of it- portrayed in the drama) between Marina Khan & Behroze Sabzwari. One comical scene follows another as Behroze Sabzwari, an immaculately dressed (full suit with oiled hair- the complete works) personal manager of Qazi Wajid, tries to win the heart"Qabacha"and the of Marina Khan. Marina plays pranks on him, gives him the nickname of fun never stops.
There is also a serious side to this drama. With her parents now no longer with her, Zara (Shehnaz Shaikh) feels responsible for supporting herself & her sister. The problem is she takes this responsibility too seriously, causing problems both for her & others who care about her. Whatever problems she faces in the drama, there are no problems as far as her acting skills are concerned. Shehnaz Shiekh's acting skills are tested to the limit and she comes through with flying colors.

Ptv Classic Drama Dhoop Kinaray

Cast: Rahat Kazmi, Marina Khan, Badar Khalil, Qazi Wajid, Arshad Mahmood, Sajid Hassan, Lateef Kapadia, Ishrat Hashmi & Rizwan Wasti
Description:Well, what can one say- the theme of her plays, the cast, direction, everything stands out. No other writer has such a large following as Hasina Moin does and justifiably so.
Marina Khan made it big in Tanhaiyan but this was the play that established her as a versatile actress who could enact comedy scenes & serious ones with equal ease. Rahat Kazmi plays the male lead in this play, which is directed by his wife, Saira Kazmi.
The plot revolves around these two characters, both working as doctors in the same hospital. Rahat Kazmi (Dr. Ahmer), plays an orphan raised by actor/singer Arshad Mehmood. They share a father-son relationship and are extremely close- they build a house together- their dream house, however, at his deathbed, Arshad Mehmood, in his will, leaves their dream house to his niece. This act shocks Dr. Ahmer, who then makes it his personal ambition to buy the house back from the niece, whom he has never seen and whom he now hates more than anything else in the world.
The niece is played by Marina Khan (Zoya), who falls for Dr. Ahmer and vice versa. Both are blissfully unaware of each other's true connection to each other. It's all downhill at a rapid pace when the identities are exposed.
What will Dr. Ahmer do now? Will he accept Zoya regardless of who she is? Will he be able to suppress years of hatred and anger that he has over time accumulated for Zoya?
Watch the play & find out.
Comic relief is provided by Sajid Hassan - his role in this play paved the way for many more such comic roles for this great actor.

Ptv Classic Drama Waris

This play was and remains a classic to this day. Arguably, the most complete, well-acted & well-directed play in the colorful history of PTV.
Cast: Mehboob Alam, Abid Ali, Uzma Gilani, Firdous Jamal, Aurangzeb Leghari, Tahira Naqvi, Agha Sikandar, Jamil Fakhri, Munawar Saeed, Samina Ahmed & Shujaat Hashmi
Description:The central role in this play belongs to Chaudhry Hashmat, a zamindar, perfectly portrayed by the late Mehboob Alam. Firdous Jamal & Aurangzeb Leghari, Hashmat's nephews & Munawwar Saeed, playing Hashmat's son, complete the zamindar family.
Through this play, people will get a taste of our feudal system that is destroying the country, a feudal system that was put in place by the British. We find these zamindars to be cruel, heartless, greedy, believing themselves to be above one & all. They are rulers of their village but their influence knows no bounds as their presence is also felt in city of Lahore. No one who comes within their reach is safe - they have no friends - even the most loyal of servants isn't safe.
Firdous Jamal as Chaudhry Anwer is at loggerheads with his brother, Chaudhry Niaz Ali. There is no peace within the family our outside. Chaudry Anwer's major vices include greed & lust. Chaudhry Niaz Ali wants to escape all this & settle down in the city but can't - the feudal web entangles him and keeps him in.
Abid Ali, after Chaudhry Hashmat, is the other actor to lookout for. He stands out in his role as Dilawar, a literate man who joins Chaudhry Hashmat's ranks just to seek revenge on the person who killed his brother, who incidentally has taken refuge in Sikandarpur, Chaudry Hashmats domain.
